UK Screen Association - Representing the UK's Post Production and Special Effects industries

The Onion

The Onion Training Sessions are a new initiative set up by UK Screen Association which is aimed junior staff within their membership.

Over the course of the year the sessions will aim to peel back the layers of the film, TV and commercials sector, giving those just starting out in their career a useful insight in to the industry and help them develop their career. They will take the form of panel discussions, workshops and skills based events which will be held on average each month.

The sessions are free with the only criteria being your employer is a member of UK Screen and that you hold a junior position within that company.

Sessions so far have included:

  • Climbing The Industry Ladder
  • The World of Editing
  • Communications/Survival Skills Workshop
  • How to Progress in 2009
  • Working in Production
  • Technical Basics in TV
  • Technical Basics in Film
  • Acquistion - What Happens on The Shoot?

There are opportunities for companies to get involved and sponsor these sessions, so for further details on how you can support the industry, please contact Angela Durrant angela@ukscreenassociation.co.uk
