London, UK - 22nd September 2009 UK Screen Association last night hosted the annual celebration of British audio talent at The Conch Sound Awards 2009. The ceremony honoured projects, people and facilities from the Commercial, Film and TV industries.
Academy Award winner Slumdog Millionaire was honoured together with Quantum of Solace in the Best Film Soundtrack categories. Quantum went on to pick up the Best Foley Award as well as achieving recognition in the individual talents of Eddy Joseph and Mike Prestwood-Smith awarded as Film Sound Editor and Film Re-Recording Mixer respectively.
Molinare won Best Film Facility and collected another Conch for documentary feature Man on Wire. Lipsync's Paul Cotterell was awarded for his work on The Red Riding Trilogy and Evolutions who continued to impress in the TV Entertainment category for BBC's Top Gear went on to win Best TV Facility. Awards for the commercials industry went to Wave for the Hovis 'Go On Lad' spot and Angell Sound for best Commercial Facility.
Best Newcomer was awarded to Sumner's Emily Nuttall and this year's Fellowship was awarded to the renowned music recordist Keith Grant. The awards, which were held at the new venue of King's Place, London, was attended by over 300 professionals from the industry in this, its fourth year.
