Pinewood Studios has submitted it planning application for Project Pinewood, a living community for the creative industry.
This is one of the most visionary and innovative initiatives for the UK's creative industries that will play a key role in ensuring its continued success and future growth. It will build upon the objective to make the UK the creative hub of Europe.
Project Pinewood will create the world's first purpose-built film and TV 'live-work' community. As well as positioning Pinewood Studios as one of the premier film and TV facilities globally, it will also lead to significant film and TV production cost savings and a substantial reduction in carbon emissions for productions with the creation of popular streetscapes, including Venice, Amsterdam, Prague and New York. It will deliver approximately 630 new jobs, rising to 960 by 2022, provide start up units for small creative businesses and establish the Pinewood Screen Crafts Academy, the first of its kind in Europe, which will be run by the NFTS and Skillset Screen Crafts Academies.
Whilst located on land in the Green Belt, adjacent to Pinewood Studios next to the M25, it is the best place in the UK to achieve an initiative of such scope and with the vital benefits to this growth sector of the UK economy.
To show your support for Project Pinewood and help build on the future of the UK's creative industries, please write to the local council
