Join us for a member briefing from the Crossrail Stakeholder team and their colleagues from the London Underground.
Thursday 11th June, 10am
Although back in 2005 few people thought Crossrail would become a reality, there was sufficient concern amongst our Soho members, the sound studios in particular, that we took direct action and appointed Parliamentary Agents, Sharpe Pritchard, to represent our interests.
In 2006 we successfully petitioned the House of Commons Select Committee and in 2007 the Committee made a decision that floating slab track should be installed in Soho. Crucially, the government then followed up this up with an undertaking that they would abide by the decision, and padded it out with more detail as to what Soho means i.e. the part of the route that lies between Regent St and Charing Cross Rd.
The undertaking is recorded in the Register of Undertakings and Assurances, which is available on the Crossrail website - see the link below and go to undertaking 437 on page 40 of 53.

The Crossrail team and their colleagues from London Underground will give members a general update on the project, the timings for the various phases of work, the transport routes (and any variations to such), citing of the lorry parks, info on advance warnings of major demolition / construction work etc... and will also be available to answer any of your questions.
Numbers are limited for this briefing so if you would like to attend please email info@ukscreenassociation.co.uk ASAP |
