New joint MD appointments for Pinewood Post

Former Videosonics MD Dennis Weinreich together with Pinewood's Head of International Sound Post Production Giles Farley will be heading up Pinewood's Post Production facility as joint Managing Directors.

LA native Weinreich moved to London in 1971 and worked as a mixer at Scorpio Sound Studios for major acts including Queen, Supertramp and Jack Bruce before establishing Videosonics in Camden, London.

Weinreich continued sound mixing until the early 1990's when the growing operation became one of the UK's leading film and TV audio post production facilities and his role demanded greater managerial time. Key projects mixed at Videosonics under Weinreich's leadership include feature films Sexy Beast (2000), Alien Vs Predator (2004) This is England (2006) in addition to TV series Great Expectations (1999) and Rome (2005).

A prominent industry figure within UK audio post production, Weinreich holds several Board positions including the UK Screen Association, the APRS (Association of Professional Recording Services), JAMES, (the Joint Audio Media Educational Service) as well as chairing the APPS (the Audio Post Production sector of the APRS), UK Screen's audio working group and Conch committee.

Having joined Pinewood nine years ago to run a dedicated international versioning facility, Farley was previously responsible for UK training, installations and technical sales at Avid and DigiDesign. Farley was promoted to Head of International Sound Post Production at Pinewood eighteen months ago, in charge of international versioning for all US major studios. Under his direction, the international division at Pinewood has emerged as one of the leading facilities of its kind in the world with its workflows setting the benchmark for international sound delivery.

Comments Weinreich on his new role "Film post production is changing and television is a major market for both audio and picture at the highest level. I'm very excited to be given the chance to take Pinewood's post facilities forward, maintaining their position at the pinnacle of technical expertise and creativity."

"We're very pleased to have Dennis on board at Pinewood" says Pinewood's Director of Sales and Marketing Nick Smith. "Both his and Giles' combined experience and leadership will drive the creative and technological workflows to create a competitive Post facility for the Group."
