After Glasgow School of Art, Mike Kelt worked as a Theatre Set Designer and Production Manager in Scotland, before joining the BBC as a Special Effects Supervisor: Dr Who, Blake's 7, comedy, light entertainment.  In 1988, Mike helped set up ARTEM, a full service special effects house, providing Animatronics, Models, Pyrotechnics, Fire, Atmospherics, Mechanics, Prosthetics, Props, Sculpture, Camera rigs, and Motion Capture.  Artem provided effects for  Reign of Fire, Invincible, Pinocchio,  The Borrowers (Working Title), Braveheart , Gladiator , Just Visiting ,The Lighthouse and The Innocents (BBC) Mike is a member of the Visual Effects Society in the US and sits on the British Screen Advisory Council
